Lovable vs KoedoDB
Lovable is a prompt-to-app builder. Lovable Cloud, the hosting underneath it, is Supabase billed through Lovable's own credit system. KoedoDB is a dedicated backend: Postgres, Auth, and app hosting, priced per project. They're not quite the same product, so here's what the money actually buys on each side.

This compares the backend and hosting layer only: database, auth, and a running app. It leaves out AI generation itself, since that's a separate choice either way — more on that below.

The Pro plan's 100 monthly credits cover three things from one balance: building (sending messages to Lovable), hosting with Lovable Cloud, and AI features. Every plan also gets a 20 Cloud credit grant, but once that's used, hosting draws from the same pool you'd rather spend on generating your app. For a small, quiet project that's rarely a problem. For anything with real traffic, it's a cost that's genuinely hard to predict in advance.
Hobby ($7) covers PostgreSQL, Auth, static frontend hosting, and daily backups and Point-in-Time Recovery. Compute 1 GB ($7) adds a running Next.js, Go, FastAPI or Rust app. Together that's a $14 base price every month, regardless of how many messages you sent an AI tool to build it. Outbound transfer is included up to each plan's limit; beyond it is $0.05 per GB, and you can set a monthly limit on that charge. There is no charge for the number of users. It doesn't do everything Lovable Cloud does — there's no built-in AI generation — but the price doesn't surprise you: the base price is fixed, the limits are spelled out, and the one overage rate is published and capped by you.
Lovable's $25 includes the AI app builder itself; KoedoDB's $14 doesn't, because KoedoDB isn't an AI app builder. If you still want one, that's a separate line item on top — but it's your choice which one, at whatever price that tool charges, instead of being locked into a single shared pool with your hosting bill.
